The Together Foundation established in October 2005 in New York, USA, is part of a growing network being developed to protect and promote human rights, human dignity and individual freedom around the world with a special focus on slavery practices and other extreme exploitation of human beings.

Special Projects

The Foundation supports also special projects and is currently addressing slavery practices in Africa, especially its Saharan region, where such extreme situations perpetuate even in regions and within populations living in the direst of circumstances, such as the refugee camps of Tindouf.

The Foundation collaborates for this purpose with all those interested or possessing experience and expertise, civil society organizations, journalists and media, and individuals, among others.  It provides moral and material support to some of groups concerned to enable them to fight from within their society. It organizes also awareness and media campaigns.

A specific resource mobilization campaign is also being carried out to enable effective and efficient support operations and activities in this respect.

Organizational Principles

The Foundation uses the standards enshrined in international human rights treaties, declarations, and customary rules and norms to guide its work;
The Foundation works as a network to share information, to respond collectively to urgent human rights issues, to conduct joint investigations, and to sponsor educational programs;
Administrative responsibilities are shared voluntarily by the participants in the Foundation;
Members of the Foundation meet as a whole at least bi-annually to discuss common activities and programs.
